We recently lost a pioneer for women in our service. YNC Eleanor Buker (Gilford) passed the bar age 99. Ms. Buker served as a SPAR (women's branch of the CG Reserve) during WWII from 1943 to 1946 and remained a strong supporter of the Coast Guard throughout her life.
