Description. This is the main trail into the Happy Jack trail system from the Summit trailhead Parking area. A short fairly easy climb to the highest point of the trail offers a great view of Happy Jack (especially in the fall). Trails connect to Tie City and the Old Happy Jack Road. If you continue pass the trailhead there is Yellow Pine Campground and horse corrals. In the winter it is popular for sledding. Access from the Summit Visitor Center on I-80 to Happy Jack Road. It is located in the Pole Mountain area and is managed by the Laramie Ranger District.

Happy Jack Trailhead can be accessed by following the signs on Highway 210 between mile markers 35 and 36. There are also two other trailheads that can be reached by traveling down headquarters road (look for signs for Blair-Wallis).
