The first time my wife and I visited Gettysburg, we stayed at the Quality Inn motel on the Chambersburg Pike on top of Seminary Ridge. And we were surprised to learn that the motel's gift shop was actually an old farmhouse that General Robert E. Lee used as his headquarters during the Battle of Gettysburg on July 1-3, 1863.
